Arts and Rec,LLC has grown over the past few years to offer more services to our wonderful students. Our team works hard to bring the most to each of their classes and we’re excited to properly introduce everyone. . .
Julie Quill, is a local artist and educator. As our CEO, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Studio Arts (concentration in crafts) as well as a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, both from Bridgewater State University. She has also studied at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, and has a Graduate Certificate in Therapeutic Recreation from SUNY Cortland. She successfully passed the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certifications exam, and is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
Julie has been painting with acrylic and oils for over twenty years and has had her work displayed in several local exhibits on the South Shore, as well as a traveling art show in California. Besides painting, Julie loves weaving: learning different patterns, as well as putting different textures and colors together with the yarn.
Her dedication and commitment to sharing the arts with students comes from her son, who has autism. Sean has inspired Julie to use my talents and education to show how art can not only be fun but also be used to express oneself. As a parent of a child with special needs, Julie understands that it can be difficult to find extracurricular activities that are fun, supportive, and safe.
Eileen is our full-time office manager. She graduated from Johnson and Wales University Providence, RI with a bachelor's degree in hospitality business management and has been lucky enough to live in many New England states.
Eileen holds a level two certificate in Reiki healing energy. She has been a practitioner for the last three years, and feels that the healing energy a person can receive from Reiki is so soothing and calming.
Prior to covid, Eileen owned and operated a cookie business, baking and selling Gluten free cookies at farmers markets and in local stores, and helped to manage a local coffee shop. Meeting so many people has been an inspiration and Eileen is inspired and amazed by the many talents and achievements each individual possesses at Arts and Rec.
One of Eileen’s favorite things to do is go on “field trips” with her nieces and nephews around New England, which is full of history and hidden gems. She loves finding places to see and things to learn and explore in our own backyards.
Melissa is an artist who enjoys working in an array of mediums. She has been an art educator in the Massachusetts school systems for over 25 years, teaching elementary, high school and college students.

Working also in the holistic and healing sector, she holds a Level 2 Reiki certification, Hatha yoga certification, Ashtanga certification and Yoga for the Special Child certification.
Melissa worked in fashion design in Florida and California before becoming a teacher. Melissa has a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals with challenges in the arts, which was inspired by her daughter Violet, who was born with down syndrome

Carli is inspired by all the hard work at Arts and Rec. She is excited to explore her passion of creating art and expand upon her knowledge of content creation. Carli works at Anthropologie in Chestnut Hill where she is always delighted to see the new fashion trends and help customers.
